ARTISTIC APPROACH

I stand in rebellion

against a throwaway society.

In a world where art is too often reduced to rapid production
and ephemeral results, I choose instead techniques that are ancestral and enduring,
rooted in natural, stable, and noble materials.

Egg tempera on traditional gesso, encaustic, and pastel on
abrasive grounds (carborundum) are my preferred mediums. Rare today,
they nevertheless hold inexhaustible potential: they invite experimentation,
the embrace of difficulty, and continual evolution.

Through them, I reaffirm the primacy of matter over concept.
I believe that sensory perception is the driving force in artistic evolution,
and that its dismissal inevitably leads to stagnation.

Encountering a work of art is a direct, physical, and sensory experience—
a state of consciousness in which the intellect becomes nothing more
than a coefficient of friction.

I do not seek to explain, but to make one feel
to express, through material forms,
what words cannot translate.
