FRANÇOIS BEAUDRY — "LE CHERCHEUR DE TRÉSORS" SERIES

The subject is a used book store, « Le chercheur de Trésors » (the treasure hunter), owned by my friend Richard Gingras. The series start with two portraits of Richard done in location and continue with various objects that were found in the bookshop at that time. The last painting represents the door of the initial location of the bookshop. It was in the red light district of Montreal, a place frequented by prostitutes, pimps and book lovers. Just in front of a Dunkin Donuts, whose signboard was reflected in the window of the door. It is with sadness that I learned of the death of my friend Richard who passed away in November 2017.
